Published in the "Tables De Geographie Ancienne Et Nouvell ..." this map shows modern-day Libya and Egypt. The title cartouche appears on a plinth at lower left flanked by pyramids and the pyramids are also clearly depicted within the body of the map. Original outline colour defines each of the country boundaries while land relief and other physical geographical features are pictorially. The Nile and the many towns along its banks dominate the map, being the most populated, and therefore detailed, area. The map extends into Israel to the north while its extent southwards, into the desert, includes fanciful depictions of lakes and water courses, although little other detail is given in these areas. An engaging item.
