A very busy battle scene showing Allagoena in Gran Canaria and the attack of the Dutch fleet in 1599. Ships in the foreground send smaller boats to the coast and fighting figures with their muskets raised are identifiable on the land. The map was published in Jan Orlers and Nicolaas Haestens' "Wilhelm And Maurits Van Nassau, Princen Van Orangien", describing the heroic acts of Wilhelm and Maurits during the Dutch 80 years war of independence. The work was published by Johannes Janssonius in Amsterdam in 1651.
