Quantung, Imperii Sinarum Provincia Duodecima
|
A finely engraved map of Quantong Province from Blaeu's renowned "Atlas Sinensis". The atlas was the first to detail the various regions of China and was produced by Joan Blaeu from information supplied by the Jesuit Missionary, Father Martino Martini. Of the various provinces mapped in the series, this is the most-sought after as it is centred on the area of Macao, Canton and present-day Hong Kong. A nice example of an elegant and important map, with minimal print offset otherwise very attractive.
