The Falkland Islands Surveyed By Capt. Robert Fitzroy ...

A thoroughly detailed chart of the Falkland Island group. The map was surveyed by Captain Robert Fitzroy, who gave his name to the Fitzroy Sound, along with William Robinson and Bartholomew James Sulivan. Considerable coastal detail is shown and many sounding depths are given around the coast and in the many inlets; these soundings are most apparent for Falkland Sound. An inset map at lower right shows the Falklands in a world context. The whole exhibits attractive hand colour. A practical map by one of the most well-known map publishing names in England at this time.
