Coronelli's map of Austria is executed in typically distinctive style; a large eagle peers over the title cartouche, emblematic of the Hapsburg Empire, the mileage scale is entwined with decorative detail and also coats of arms. Walled cities are depicted pictorially and the scale of the map allows for some detail of the shapes of these cities to be shown. The map was published in Coronelli's atlas, "Corso Geografico Universale". The map is dedicated to Gio.Battista Spinelli of the Republic of Venice. A good example of Coronelli's flamboyant cartography.
