Large folio. Engraved Tp, ff.[i] dedication, 46 maps double-page copperplate engraved maps in full original colour, pp.54 index and subscribers list (the last misbound in reverse). Lincolnshire and Leicestershire misplaced. A good example of the first edition of this atlas of large-scale, detailed county maps of England and Wales. Yorkshire is on four sheets and Wales is shown on two. The maps are in generally fine condition, a few with minimal light stains and centrefold tears. Bookplate of the architect Robert Stanley-Morgan. Later half morocco, spine a little worn, but sound.
