Asia With The Islands Adioyning Described, ...
|
A strong early impression of this famous carte-a-figures map from the first world atlas published by an Englishman in England, "The Prospect Of TheMost Famous Parts Of The World". The fine engraving, by Abraham Goos, can be appreciated in this early edition. The map is distinguished by the panelled portraits at each side of native figures, and the oval plans and panoramas of major cities along the top border including Goa, Jerusalem, Damascus, Ormus and Macao. In generally fine condition with negligible marginal reinforcement.
