Pierre Davity Sr.De Montmartin

Pierre D'Avity (1573-1635) was the author of a number of geographical books, including the “Etats Et Empires Du Monde” (1629), and the “Neuwe Archontologia Cosmica” (1646). Picart's portrait shows his head and shoulders in a roundel in the year 1617 when he was 45. D'Avity looks out at the reader confidently.
