Emanuel Bowen was an English engraver, publisher and mapseller, active in London between 1720 and 1767. His prolific output both as engraver and publisher earned him recognition both in England and France, for he held the dual appointment of Engraver to both George II and Louis XV of France. This attractive map of Turkey (including a rather mis-shapen Cyprus) appeared in his "System of Geography". Ruined cities and major overland routes are marked.
