Published in Ortelius' atlas, the "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum", from 1570 this is an important and attractive map of Cyprus and Crete. From 1584 onwards editions of the Ortelius atlas no longer included this map. With Latin text to the verso and a protective margin added at the lower edge where the map has been trimmed close. Grid lines appear over the map of Crete. A little light centrefold discolouration.
