De L'Isle's map encorporates the observations (both new and old) of Monsieurs Wheler and Tournefort as well as the astronomic observations of M. Vernon du P. Feullee. The credit De L'Isle gives to these observations shows the "scientific" approach to cartography he adopted, incorporating as much up-to-date information as possible garnered from travels and exploration. This map extends from eastern Italy and includes Turkey and Cyprus. The map bears the imprint, "Chez l'Auteur sur le Quaide L'Horloge" and, along with the good impression, this impies a relative early edition of the map.
