Tabula Asiae IIII
|
An uncoloured example of Ruscelli's Ptolemaic map of Cyprus and the Holy Land, after Giacomo Gastaldi from "La Geografia Di Claudio Tolomeo Alessandrino ...". Using Ptolemy's coordinates, Ruscelli's map shows an almost oblong Cyprus, while the Euphrates River dominates much of the mainland. The Arabian desert is shown bordered on three sides by mountains.
