The World On Mercator's Projection

Presented with Part One of "The Countries Of The World", this large and detailed world map, containing north and south polar hemispheres, appeared as a folding supplement in Cassell's part-work. Centred on the Pacific Ocean, the map is bordered by tables of political and physical statistics, including populations, sizes of armies and navies, national debts and religions, along with sizes of rivers and so on. Light wear at old folds but a good example of an ephemeral publication with printed monochrome shading.
