This attractive map is a late printing of the reduced-size revision of Mercator's atlas map. Jan Cloppenburg first published this version, engraved by Pieter Van Den Keere, in 1630. This example dates from later in the century when the plates had been acquired by Jan Waesberge, one of Jansson's heirs.
