Finely engraved and first published by Frederik De Wit, this is a spectacular example, in bright original colour, of the Ottens brothers' re-issue of a detailed chart of the entire English Channel. Crossed by rhumb lines, the plate is decorated with vignettes of ships and a pair of dramatic title cartouches; one in Latin, the other in Dutch.
