An attractive and detailed map of southern India, below Goa and Golgonda, and the northern part of Ceylon. The map was published in "Oud -En Nieuw-Oost Indien" - a travel book by Francois Valentyn, a Minister of the Dutch Reformed Church who served with the Dutch East India Company. The title cartouche and a decorative compass rose appear off the east coast of India. Slight evidence of old folds otherwise in very good condition.
