This rare map is one of only six county maps prepared for Seller's "Atlas Anglicanus" but never thus issued. They were created by the surveyor John Oliver and engraved by Richard Palmer, and this example was issued by Thomas and John Bowles. The map has the roads and is sub-divided into squares for easy calculation of distances although there is, unusually, no scale-bar. Vivid original colouring with gum-arabic highlighting to the title cartouche and a little centrefold wear, nevertheless, a most attractive example.
