A clearly engraved chart of the Caspian Sea. Coastal towns are named with both Roman and Cyrillic (?) lettering. Numerous rhumb lines stemming from a centrally placed compass rose traverse the sheet with five sailing ships in the sea. The title cartouche and mileage scale in the upper right corner are flanked by figures in traditional dress. Particular emphasis is given to rivers, bays and harbours. This map, a later anonymous German edition, is very similar in appearance to Dapper's map, although with a somewhat bolder style particularly apparent in the lettering of the title cartouche. One or two marginal tears and restoration to the lower centrefold. Nevertheless, an attractive chart of this area.
