Kitchin's Most Accurate Map Of The Roads Of England And Wales

Kitchin's Most Accurate Map Of The Roads Of England And Wales

Engraved for the "London Magazin" in 1763, and thus with slight evidence of old folds where the map would have folded in to the magazine publication, this is an attractive map of England and Wales. The counties are delineated with original outline colour as well as with a numbered key. The roads are clearly depicted and distances between towns are also given. Kitchin is at pains to point out in a note that, "we have wholly omitted the Computed Distances on the Roads, they being nothing better than the Effect of wild and random Imagination".
