Nova & Accuratissima Celeberrimae Universitatis ... Oxoniensis

An attractive and detailed plan of the university city of Oxford. Extending from Magdalen College to St. Thomas and from Christ Church Meadow to St. Giles. The map was engraved by William Toms and appeared in William Williams "Oxonia Depicta Sive Collegiorum Et Aularum In Ipclyta Academia Oxoniensi Chronographica, Orthographica & Scenographica." Despite the classical connotations of the book's title, this up-to-date plan of the town includes an extensive key detailing the colleges, churches and other buildings. The plan is offered here with attractive, later, hand colour, minor marginal tears repaired and reinforcement to the centrefold. Nevertheless, a most acceptable example of an infrequently seen item.
