A fascinating panorama of the West End folding into original boards. At over 18 feet in length, this plan offers the opportunity to "take an architectural tour" of the streets of London as they were before the Great Exhibition. It extends from All Soul's Langham Place to Westminster Abbey and shows the buildings in elevation. This is a commercial panorama of London with each shop fascia showing the proprietor's name. Some proprietor's names appeared additionally at the foot of the panorama and one must assume that these had paid an advertising fee to the publishers. Many trades are shown, some of which now are forgotten. Enlivening the panorama are horses, carts and carriages, pedestrian and street entertainers, sheep being driven to market and even a railway carriage being transported under horse power! Restoration of old folds and a little spotting.
