With a title cartouche in the upper left corner showing the female figure of Hibernia (an Irish Britannia) holding the spear and Irish harp, this is a most engaging map of Ireland. Published in Italy, the map uses Italian nomenclature for the seas and bays as well as the mileage scales. Here the provinces are divided by attractive later hand colour adding to the decorative appeal. County boundaries are marked along with many place names and roads. This is the first state of the map (before the towns were altered to be shown by fortification symbols) and was first published in "Storia Moderna Overo Lo Stato Presente Di Tutti O Popoli Del Mondo ..." and then in the "Atlante Novissimo".
