A very attractive example of one of the most famous of all map images. Ortelius' map of Iceland is renowned not just for the vivid depiction of this mountainous island with its erupting Mount Hekla, but also for the numerous creatures, real and imaginary, dramatically illustrated around the island. This example is a good impression in lovely original colour and with Latin text on the reverse. Small area of re-inforcement to right hand margin.
