Tabula Selenographica ... Hevelii Quam Riccioli

Tabula Selenographica ... Hevelii Quam Riccioli

A fascinating and decorative map of the visible side of the moon to show nomenclatures by both Riccioli and Hevelius. That proposed by Hevelius became obsolete. This map was prepared in the 1720s by the astronomer, geographer, mathematician and physicist, Johann Gabriel Doppelmayr and was published by Johann Baptist Homann in some of his atlases. A little restoration to one or two minor areas of paper weakness.
