Originally published in the Parliamentary Reports for 1796, printed by Hansard & Sons, and reprinted for 1803, this detailed plan shows the proposed docks at the Isle of Dogs from Blackwall to Limehouse Hole. Samuel Wyatt was Surveyor at Trinity House and his own suggestion, shown here, was for three parallel docks with entrance basins on the Isle of Dogs. The whole would have accommodated 910 ships. The name of the engraver, J.Basire, is given in the lower right corner. In generally good condition with expert repairs to marginal nicks and tears. A fascinating record of an area now regarded as one of the world's leading financial centres - Canary Wharf.
