A wonderfully detailed map of "The Metropolitan Borough Of Saint Marylebone" which extends from Primrose Hill in the north to Oxford Street in the south, and from Charlotte street in the east to the Edgware Road in the west. "This Plan shows the Boundaries of the Parish of St. Marylebone, as forming the new Metropolitan Borough under the provisions of the London Government Act 1899; and also the Boundaries of the several Wards into which the same is divided". Each ward is named beneath the map's title and original block colour further defines the boundaries of each ward. Regent's Park and Lord's Cricket Ground are both, of course, prominent on this detailed map. The map is laid on linen and folds into red buckram boards. The whole is in generally good condition with only negligible wear to the map folds and a slightly wekend hinge on the buckram boards. An accurate and timely record of governmental and adminstrative changes to the area's geography at this time.
