L'Abbe Grenet was a geographer and professor at Lisieux. This atlas was published from 1779 with maps by Rigobert Bonne and an Italian edition by Santini was also published in 1794. The titlepage seems to encapsulate the spirit of the Age of Enlightenment with geographic instruments of reason and knowledge surrounding the central title banner. The reverse of the page has a manuscript table of contents.
