Dissected into sixteen pieces and folded on linen this is an attractive nineteenth-century map of the Pacific Ocean including good detail of Australia, the East Indies and extending eastwards to depict the west coasts of both North and South America. This is a scarce Italian edition of Brue's map that was published in 1829, just a few years earlier. Many individual Pacific islands are named and major coastal towns and bays are depicted on the larger land masses.
