A decorative and detailed map of London and its environs extending from Maidenhead and Windsor in the west to Chelmsford and Gravesend in the east, and from Luton and Hertford in the north to Leatherhead and Bromley. The map is interesting as most publications of the time concentrated solely on the City of London or an individual county, whereas this takes in much of what is now London's "commuter belt". A detailed panorama of the City and Westminster from Southwark occupies the lower border and shows the river with innumerable sailing craft, both large and small.
