The most attractive titlepage to "Beschryving Van't Gesandschap Der Nederlandsche Oost-Indische Compangnie Aen Den Grooten Tartarische Chan Nu Keyser Van China", a description of the East India Company trade mission to China which contained 150 copperplates maps. The page shows numerous Chinese male figures in traditional dress surrounding the seated Emperor with a globe, centred on China and the East Indies, beneath his left hand. These figures stand on a raised platform with instruments
of war and power, while further submissive figures are shown beneath.
