A finely engraved and very decorative chart of the Atlantic Ocean by the master Italian globe and mapmaker, Coronelli. The map shows the US East Coast, the West Indies and the Brazilian coast and stretches across the Atlantic to include West Africa, Spain and the British Isles. Iceland and the southern tip of Greenland are also given. The map was first published in the "Atlante Veneto" and is a fine example of Coronelli's decorative style - the title cartouche in the upper left corner includes ornate foliage and two merman.
