"Draught Of Ye Bay Of Bulls Between The Town Of Rotta And Fort St Catherine, Under The Command Of His Grace Duke Of Ormond; With The Disposition Of The Frigates Which Were Ordered To Stand In By The Shore, To Favour The Landing; As Also The Situation Of The Ground And Bay, With That Of The Enemy's Batteries & Troops". An interesting plan of the Bay of Bulls that was published in Nicholas Tindal's continuation of Rapin De Thoyras' "History Of England" (1744-1777). The atlas primarily contains maps depicting the military actions fought by the English during the campaigns of the War of the Spanish Succession, notably in the Low Countries, but also in Spain, and was also supplemented by a series of contemporary maps - of the countries of the British Isles and parts of the wider world. The map was engraved by Isaac Basire (1704-1768), one of the family of English engravers noted for producing work for the Royal Society of Antiquaries, amongst others. The detailed map includes a key at lower left in a decorative surround. Minor restoration to areas of paper weakness.
