"A small spark will kindle a Flame - That oceans cannot quench". This lithograph shows a winged devil seated on a rocky outcrop using bellows to fan the fire on the globe opposite where France, Holland and Portugal are named and engulfed in flames. The devil's coloured headwear suggests that he is under the influence of France and the Revolution. The imprint "Pub Oct 8 1830 by S.Gans Southampton St Strand" appears at lower right. With repairs to tears and areas of paper weakness, with the whole laid on paper for reinforcement, this is nevertheless a scarce and politically charged cartoon with cartographic content.
