An attractive example of this popular map of New England. The map continued to be published for the greater part of sixty years
(started by Jan Jansson c.1660 and continued until this version by Homann c.1716-) and is identifiable as one of the last versions in the sequence of influential New England maps with the celebrated view of New York by Nicolas Visscher. The title appears in a decorative cartouche at lower right flanked
by a European trader (holding a beaver) and a Native American in
traditional dress. With centrefold restoration and reinforcement to verso.
