A finely engraved view of the Great Gate at Burlington House, seat of the third Earl of Burlington Richard Boyle and now famous as the Royal Academy. The Earl had a passion for Italian architecture, reflected in this design for the gate, which was later satirised in the print "Man Of Taste". The engraver, Henry Hulsbergh, is named at the bottom right-hand corner and seems to have been sought after for architectural works. This print first appeared in the third volume of Campbell's Vitruvius Britannicus.
