Our New Website

Our new website represents one of the most exciting challenges we have taken on in recent times. The opportunities to inform and advise people all over the world, twenty four hours a day, of the fascination and attraction of old maps appear endless. However, we know that pretty pictures and reasonable prices are not always sufficient to encourage newcomers and more experienced collectors, so we aim to provide a website that can enthuse and excite those looking at it.

Over the next few months we intend to upload a large proportion of our current stock, clearly described and well illustrated, adding new and exciting items as they become available. We will also be adding biographies and descriptions of the most significant mapmakers and publishers to our Mapmakers’ Biographies, featuring new reference books of note, and adding links to other interesting websites, exhibitions and so on.

Jonathan Potter and those who work at the business share a passion for their stock in trade and want to share that enjoyment with their clients. Hopefully this website will go some way to achieving that goal and be almost as enjoyable as visiting the gallery.
