An attractive map of the world on Mercator's projection, showing the sea routes, currents, magnetic poles, air currents, time zones, railways and roads. Including pink outline colour to indicate "Territories recognising Sovereignty of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II". Gerardus Mercator is credited with the projection in a subtitle at the top left. Demonstrating the interconnectedness of the world during the Cold War, this informative map appeared in the "Times Atlas Of The World - Mid-Century Edition", one of the finest atlases of the last century.
