A French edition of Cook's chart showing the tracks of the most famous and celebrated Pacific explorers. The tracks of Cook's own three circumnavigations are shown along with those of Bougainville, Bouvet and Furneaux amongst others. As befits this precise chart no land is conjectured at the South Pole. The central sphere is contained within a square outer frame in the corners of which are tables of latitude and longitude of numerous Pacific islands newly encountered. Light evidence of old folds, otherwise in good, clean condition with attractive outline colour.
