An amusing and interesting diagrammatic description of the "Dial of the Seasons Illustrating the Sun's Declination at all Seasons Showing also the Coincident Effects of Light and Heat on Animal and Vegetable Life in all Climates". The sundial-like effect displays the sun's angles at different times of the year at Greenwich Observatory, London, and Philadelphia. Beneath this two panels stretch the length of the engraving with illustrations of sailing ships in differing seas and climates and animals set within landscapes from the equator to the Poles. Some evidence of old, reinforced, folds but a most unusual and attractive scientific presentation.
