A classic decorative county map from John Speed's atlas. Text on the reverse describes the county and gives a gazetteer. It is typically illustrated with plans of Oakham and neighbouring Stamford, and with the arms of the Dukes of Rutland. Rutland being the smallest English county, the map appears at a larger scale than others, and is more accurately detailed, being based on the work of a local nobleman, John Harington.
