An early printing, without the privelige mark of a very attractive world map by the engraver and publisher Gerard Valk. The map shows the typical cartographic detail for the period with an island California, a vaguely outlined Southern Continent, and the beginnings of the delineation of Australia and New Zealand after Tasman. A pair of polar projection spheres occupy upper and lower centre while elaborate engravings in each corner illustrate baroque scenes representing the four seasons. A few areas of minor restoration, nevertheless an uncommon map in original colour.
